Mucolite SR Capsule interacts with the following medicines:

• Antibiotics: Mucolite SR Capsule can increase the penetration of antibiotics like amoxicillin, cefuroxime, and erythromycin into bronchial secretions, potentially enhancing their effectiveness.

• Antitussives: Taking this medicine alongside antitussives such as codeine or dextromethorphan is not recommended as it may lead to mucus accumulation due to cough suppression.

• Heart rhythm medications: Interactions have been reported with quinidine. Taking both medicines together may affect how quinidine works.

• Antacids and Cimetidine: Interactions have been reported with these medicines used to manage stomach acid conditions. They may change how Mucolite SR Capsule works or increase the risk of side effects.

There are no known specific food interactions with Mucolite SR Capsule. It can be taken with or without food.

Mucolite SR Capsule interacts with the following diseases:

• Gastric Ulceration: This medicine should be used with caution if you have a history of gastric ulcers, as it could potentially worsen your condition.

• Convulsive Disorders: If you have convulsive disorders like epilepsy, taking this medicine may increase seizure frequency.

• Impaired Renal or Hepatic Function: This medicine is metabolised in the liver and excreted through the kidneys. Therefore, dose adjustments may be necessary if you have impaired kidney or liver function.

You should take the Mucolite SR Capsule as directed by your doctor. The dosage may vary based on factors such as the severity of your condition and your response to treatment. It's crucial to adhere to the prescribed dosage and consult your doctor before exceeding it.

An overdose of Mucolite SR Capsule may lead to symptoms like vomiting, diarrhoea, and excessive salivation. If you observe these symptoms, it's important to inform your doctor.

If you forget to take your Mucolite SR Capsule, take it as soon as you remember. However, if it's close to the time for the next dose, skip the missed dose and continue with your regular schedule. Never increase your dosage without speaking with your doctor first.
