Jalra M Tablet is used to manage blood sugar levels in people with type 2 diabetes. It improves insulin effectiveness, reduces excess glucose production in the liver, and helps maintain stable blood sugar control, thereby lowering the risk of diabetes-related complications affecting the heart, kidneys, and nerves.

Swallow Jalra-M 50mg/500mg Tablet whole with a glass of water.
Do not crush or chew tablet, as this may affect the way the medication is absorbed in the body.
Take the medicine at fixed times each day to maintain a consistent level of medication.
Do not change your tablet dose or take them more often than prescribed.

Jalra-M 50mg/500mg Tablet is taken orally.

Jalra M 50mg/500mg Tablet 15 may cause side effects such as nausea, diarrhea, constipation, dizziness, headache, abdominal discomfort, and fatigue. If these side effects persist or worsen, consult your doctor.

Managing the Side Effects:

Most of the side effects mentioned above resolve on discontinuation of the tablet and are temporary and, in most cases, do not require medical attention. If you experience severe or persistent side effects from this tablet, consult your doctor.

Jalra M 50/500mg tablet is a combination of Metformin and Vildagliptin, two anti-diabetic drugs. Metformin is a Type of anti-diabetic drug (biguanide). It acts by decreasing glucose synthesis in the liver, slowing glucose absorption from the intestines, and improving insulin sensitivity. Vildagliptin is a DPP-4 inhibitor that acts by increasing insulin secretion from the pancreas and reducing blood sugar-raising chemicals. Fasting and post-meal sugar levels are both reduced as a result of this. Jalra M 50/500mg tablets work together to improve blood sugar control.

Pregnancy

Jalra-M 50mg/500mg Tablet is not recommended during pregnancy due to the risk of foetal harm. Do not take this tablet during pregnancy until prescribed by a doctor.

Breastfeeding

Breastfeeding women are not recommended to take Jalra-M 50mg/500mg Tablet. It can pass into the nursing infant through breast milk. Before taking this tablet while breastfeeding, it is recommended to consult a doctor.

Alcohol

It is not recommended to consume alcohol while taking Jalra-M 50mg/500mg Tablet. Alcohol can lower blood sugar and may increase your risk of lactic acidosis (accumulation of lactic acid in the body).

Liver

Patients with liver disease are not recommended to take Jalra-M 50mg/500mg Tablet. Consult your doctor to know the risks of taking this medication for liver disease.

Kidney

Jalra-M 50mg/500mg Tablet should be cautiously used by patients with kidney impairment. Dose adjustments may be required in such patients. If you have severe kidney disease, it's better to take your doctor's advice before taking this tablet.

Using Machines & Driving

Jalra-M 50mg/500mg Tablet may affect your ability to operate machinery or drive a vehicle. You may experience dizziness after taking this tablet. Avoiding any attentive task is recommended after taking this tablet.

Allergy

Allergic reactions to Jalra-M 50mg/500mg Tablet are rare. But if you are allergic to vildagliptin or metformin, you should not take this tablet. To avoid allergic reactions, read the label and check the ingredients before taking this tablet.

Children

Jalra-M 50mg/500mg Tablet is not intended for children less than 18 years of age.

Older Patients

Drug-Drug Interactions

Jalra-M 50mg/500mg Tablet can interact with medications, including:

Antihypertensive medications such as amlodipine can cause an increased risk of angioedema if this tablet is simultaneously taken with antihypertensive medications.
Anti-diabetic medications such as glimepiride or glipizide. On taking this tablet with other anti-diabetic medications, the effects of this tablet are reduced.
Anticonvulsant agent such as phenytoin. Jalra-M 50mg/500mg Tablet may decrease the blood levels of phenytoin, potentially reducing its effectiveness in controlling seizures.
Antianginal agents such as ranolazine. There is a risk of increased levels of Jalra-M 50mg/500mg Tablet when taken with ranolazine.
Tyrosine kinase inhibitors such as vandetanib and crizotinib. Concurrent use with Jalra-M 50mg/500mg Tablet may increase the levels of this tablet in the blood.
Medicines used to treat HIV infection, such as dolutegravir. There is a risk of increased levels of Jalra-M 50mg/500mg Tablet when taken with this medicine.
Stomach acid reducers such as cimetidine. Concurrent use with Jalra-M 50mg/500mg Tablet may increase the levels of this tablet in the blood.
Glucocorticoids such as dexamethasone and prednisolone. These medications may increase blood sugar levels.
Bronchodilators such as albuterola and terbutaline. These medications may increase blood sugar levels, potentially affecting the control of diabetes when used with Jalra-M 50mg/500mg Tablet.
Diuretics such as furosemide, when taken with Jalra-M 50mg/500mg Tablet can affect blood sugar levels and may require adjustments in diabetes treatment.
NSAIDs such as ibuprofen and celecoxib, when taken with this medicine, may affect blood sugar control.

Drug-Disease Interactions

Jalra-M 50mg/500mg Tablet can interact with diseases, including:

Heart diseases: This tablet may cause irregular heartbeat and worsen existing heart condition.
Kidney disease: This tablet may further impair kidney function in patients with existing kidney diseases.
Liver disease: This tablet may further impair liver function in patients with existing liver diseases.
Lactic acidosis: This tablet may causel lactic acidosis as a side effect.
