Lipicure Gold 40 Capsule is used for the following:

• Lowering the chances of non-fatal stroke in patients who have previously experienced an ischemic stroke or transient ischemic attack (TIA)
• Reducing the combined risk of death and non-fatal heart attack in individuals with a history of heart attack or unstable chest pain
• Decreasing the risk of heart attack and sudden death in people with chronic stable chest pain
• Assisting patients who have undergone revascularisation procedures, such as coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG) or percutaneous transluminal coronary angioplasty (PTCA), and already require aspirin
• Reducing the potential development of aspirin-associated stomach ulcers in at-risk patients, such as those aged 55 or above or those with a documented history of stomach ulcers.

Lipicure Gold 40 Capsule comprises three active ingredients:

• Aspirin (75 mg): As an antiplatelet agent, aspirin prevents the formation of thromboxane A2 by irreversibly inhibiting an enzyme called cyclooxygenase-1 (COX-1). Thromboxane A2 plays a crucial role in blood clotting. By inhibiting its formation, aspirin reduces the risk of clot formation which can lead to heart attacks or strokes.
• Atorvastatin (40 mg): This is a lipid-lowering medicine that belongs to the statin class. It works by blocking an enzyme called HMG-CoA reductase that plays a key role in making cholesterol in your body. By doing so, it lowers 'bad' cholesterol and triglycerides while increasing 'good' cholesterol levels.
• Clopidogrel (75 mg): Clopidogrel is another antiplatelet medicine that selectively and irreversibly stops ADP from binding to its platelet receptor. This prevents platelet activation and aggregation, further reducing the risk of blood clot formation.
