Angiplat-2.5 Capsule is used to manage acute episodes of chest pain due to angina pectoris. It may also help prevent angina attacks related to coronary artery disease, providing relief during active episodes and helping reduce the frequency of future attacks.

Administer Angiplat-2.5 Capsule as follows:

• Swallow the capsule whole with a glass of water.

• Avoid crushing, chewing, or opening the capsule.

• Maintain regular intervals between doses for consistent effectiveness.

Angiplat-2.5 Capsule contains Glyceryl Trinitrate / Nitroglycerin (2.5mg). The activity of this single-component medicine can be explained as follows:

• Vasodilation: The active ingredient, Nitroglycerin, acts as a potent vasodilator. Vasodilation refers to the widening of blood vessels, which helps enhance blood flow. This action reduces the heart's workload, making it easier for the heart to pump blood.

• Conversion to Nitric Oxide: In your body, Nitroglycerin is converted into Nitric Oxide (NO). NO is a substance that triggers the enzyme guanylate cyclase, leading to increased levels of cyclic guanosine monophosphate (cGMP) in the smooth muscle cells of your blood vessels.

• Vascular Smooth Muscle Relaxation: The increased levels of cGMP result in the relaxation of vascular smooth muscle, further contributing to the dilation of blood vessels. This, in turn, increases the blood and oxygen supply to your heart muscle, helping manage the chest pain associated with angina.
