Aginal AT Tablet is a combination medicine used to manage high blood pressure (hypertension) and stable angina (chest pain) in adults. By controlling blood pressure and heart rate, it helps reduce the workload on the heart and lowers the risk of heart attack and stroke.
It contains amlodipine and atenolol. Amlodipine is a calcium channel blocker that relaxes blood vessels, while atenolol is a beta-blocker that slows the heart rate. Take it with or without food as prescribed. Do not stop taking this medicine suddenly, as stopping abruptly can cause a rapid increase in blood pressure or chest pain.
Adopting healthy lifestyle habits helps support your treatment. These include following a low-salt diet, maintaining regular moderate exercise, managing stress, keeping a healthy weight, and avoiding smoking and alcohol.
Before taking this medicine, inform your doctor if you have asthma or severe breathing conditions, kidney or liver problems, a very slow heartbeat, or diabetes. Mild swelling in the ankles or feet can occur; inform your doctor if it becomes uncomfortable or severe. Tell your doctor if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.
