Wikoryl Suspension is used to relieve symptoms of the common cold in children, such as fever, body ache, a blocked or runny nose and sneezing. It is a combination medicine containing paracetamol (a fever reducer and pain reliever), phenylephrine hydrochloride (a nasal decongestant) and chlorpheniramine maleate (an antihistamine).
This medicine is also used to ease allergy symptoms such as sneezing, a runny nose and watery eyes. Shake the bottle well and give the dose prescribed by the doctor using the measuring device provided, with or without food. Do not give more than prescribed or combine it with other cold or fever medicines.
Making sure your child rests and drinks plenty of warm fluids can help ease congestion and support recovery.
This medicine should not be used in children below 4 years of age. Before giving it, tell the doctor if your child has asthma, heart, liver, kidney or thyroid problems, or high blood pressure, and about any other medicines your child takes, especially other medicines containing paracetamol. It may cause drowsiness. Contact the doctor if your child has unusual drowsiness, restlessness, a fast heartbeat or a fever that does not come down. Do not stop giving this medicine unless the doctor advises you to do so.
