Urinfen 0.4 Tablet 10 is prescribed for the management and treatment of the following conditions:

• Treatment of benign prostatic hyperplasia

• Management of enlarged prostate gland

• Relief of urinary flow obstruction

• Improvement of weak urine stream

• Reduction of frequent urination

• Management of nocturia

• Relief of urgent need to urinate

• Reduction of incomplete bladder emptying sensation

• Improvement of interrupted urine flow

Urinfen 0.4 Tablet 10 can be taken as directed below:

• Swallow the tablet whole with a full glass of water.

• Do not crush, chew, or break the tablet.

• Take it at the same time each day for best results.

• Rise slowly from sitting or lying positions to avoid dizziness.

• Consult your doctor for specific advice about your condition.

Urinfen 0.4 Tablet 10 is taken orally.

Urinfen 0.4 Tablet 10 contains tamsulosin (0.4 mg), which works on the body as follows:

• Alpha-1 Receptor Blockade: Tamsulosin specifically targets and blocks alpha-1 receptors found in the smooth muscles of the prostate gland and bladder neck, preventing these muscles from tightening.

• Smooth Muscle Relaxation: By blocking these receptors, tamsulosin causes the smooth muscles to relax, which reduces the constriction of the urethra (the tube that carries urine out of the body).

• Improved Urine Flow: The relaxation of these muscles helps widen the urinary passage, making it easier for urine to flow and relieving symptoms of BPH like weak urine stream or difficulty starting urination.

• Selective Action: Unlike some other alpha-blockers, tamsulosin works more selectively on the prostate and bladder, which helps reduce certain side effects related to blood pressure changes.

• Store the tablet at temperatures below 30°C.

• Keep the medicine away from direct light, heat and moisture.

• Store in the original packaging until ready to use.

• Keep this medicine out of reach and sight of children.

• Do not use the tablet after the expiry date printed on the package.

• Limit your intake of caffeine and alcohol, especially in the evening, as these can worsen urinary symptoms associated with an enlarged prostate (benign prostatic hyperplasia).

• Maintain a healthy body weight through regular physical activity, as excess weight can put additional pressure on your bladder and worsen urinary difficulties.
