Urifast Capsule is used to treat and prevent recurrent urinary tract infections (UTIs) caused by bacteria such as Escherichia coli and Staphylococcus aureus. It clears the current infection and reduces the chances of it returning.
It contains nitrofurantoin, an antibiotic that kills bacteria in the urinary tract. Take it with food to reduce stomach upset, exactly as prescribed. Complete the full course, even if you feel better before finishing it, as stopping early can let the infection return and raise antibiotic resistance.
Drinking plenty of water throughout the day can help flush bacteria from the urinary tract. Emptying your bladder fully and regularly, and good personal hygiene, can also reduce the risk of further infections.
Tell your doctor if you have kidney or liver problems, or a history of lung disease. Tell your doctor promptly about yellowing skin or eyes, persistent cough or breathlessness, or numbness, tingling or weakness in your hands or feet. Not recommended in late pregnancy.
