Thyroxinol 125 Tablet is used to replace the thyroxine hormone that the thyroid gland is not producing adequately (hypothyroidism), relieving symptoms such as fatigue, weight gain, feeling cold and low mood. It is also used as part of treatment following surgery or radioiodine therapy for thyroid cancer.
It contains levothyroxine sodium, a synthetic form of the thyroid hormone. Take it on an empty stomach, at least 30 minutes before breakfast and before taking other medicines or supplements, at the same time each morning.
Regular thyroid function blood tests check that the dose is correct and should be attended as advised.
Tell your doctor about any heart problems, adrenal gland problems or diabetes before starting. Many medicines and supplements interact with levothyroxine (including calcium, iron and antacids); ask your doctor or pharmacist before adding anything new. Symptoms of too much levothyroxine (fast heartbeat, tremor, excessive sweating, heat intolerance) should be reported promptly.
