Telvas 80 Tablet is used to manage high blood pressure (hypertension) and lower the risk of cardiovascular events such as heart attack and stroke in high-risk adults. It is a single-ingredient angiotensin II receptor blocker containing telmisartan.
Controlling blood pressure helps prevent long-term damage to the heart, brain and kidneys. Take it with or without food, ideally at a regular time, in the dose, frequency and duration prescribed by your doctor, and continue it even when you feel fine, as high blood pressure usually has no noticeable symptoms.
Follow a low-sodium diet by cutting down on pickles, papad and packaged snacks, stay physically active, keep to a healthy weight, quit smoking and moderate alcohol.
Before starting, tell your doctor if you have liver disease, kidney problems or raised potassium levels, and about all other medicines, supplements or herbal products you take. This medicine must not be used during pregnancy or breastfeeding. Your kidney function and potassium may be monitored. Follow the prescribed dose, frequency and duration, report persistent or serious side effects, and do not stop the medicine unless your doctor advises you to do so.
