Telma-AZ Tablet is used to manage stage II hypertension in adults, helping to control blood pressure and reduce the risk of complications such as heart attack, stroke and kidney problems, particularly when a single medicine is not enough.

Uses of Telma-AZ Tablet are:

• Stage II Hypertension: Helps control high blood pressure in adults.
• Cardiovascular Risk Reduction: Helps lower the risk of serious complications such as heart attack and stroke.
• Combination Therapy: Used when blood pressure is not adequately controlled by azelnidipine or telmisartan alone.

Here is how you must use Telma-AZ Tablet:

• Swallow the tablet whole with a glass of water.

• Do not crush, chew or break the tablet.

• Consistently take the medicine at the same time each day to maintain a regular dosage schedule.

• Don't stop taking this medicine without consulting your doctor first.

Telma-AZ Tablet is taken orally

This tablet contains two active components:

• Telmisartan (40 mg): As an angiotensin II receptor blocker (ARB), telmisartan works by preventing angiotensin II from binding to its receptors in your body. Normally, when angiotensin II binds to these receptors, it causes your blood vessels to narrow and increases blood pressure. By blocking this action, telmisartan allows the blood vessels to relax and increases blood flow, thus reducing blood pressure.

• Azelnidipine (8 mg): As a dihydropyridine calcium channel blocker, azelnidipine works by blocking the flow of calcium ions into specific muscle cells in your blood vessels. This process relaxes and widens your blood vessels (vasodilation), thereby reducing the resistance in peripheral blood vessels and lowering your blood pressure.

• Keep your Telma-AZ Tablet in a cool and dry place, ideally at room temperature not exceeding 30°C.

• The medicine should be stored away from direct sunlight and moisture.

• Always keep this medicine out of the reach of children.

• Ensure that you use your Telma-AZ Tablet before the expiry date mentioned on the package.

• To manage your high blood pressure, focus on maintaining a balanced diet with reduced sodium intake. High-sodium foods can worsen hypertension, so try to limit them in your meals.

• Regular physical activity can help control your blood pressure. Try including moderate exercise, like brisk walking or cycling, in your daily routine. Always consult with your doctor before starting any new exercise regimen.
