Telekast L Kid Syrup 60ml

Telekast-L Kid Syrup is used in children aged 2 to 5 years to manage allergic rhinitis symptoms such as sneezing and runny nose. It is also used for long-term control of asthma and for preventing exercise-induced bronchoconstriction, helping improve breathing and reduce asthma symptoms.

Give your child Telekast-L Kid Syrup as follows:

• Shake the syrup bottle well before use.

• Use the provided measuring cup to give the correct dose.

• Ensure that the syrup bottle is securely capped after every use.

• This medicine is sugar-based, so if your child has diabetes, consult your doctor before giving them this syrup.

Telekast-L Kid Syrup is given orally.

Telekast-L Kid Syrup comprises two active ingredients:

• Levocetirizine (2.5 mg): This component is essentially an antihistamine which works by selectively blocking histamine H1 receptors in your child’s body. Histamines are substances that cause allergic reactions like sneezing, itching and watery eyes. By blocking these substances, levocetirizine helps to reduce these symptoms.

• Montelukast (4 mg): This ingredient falls under the category of leukotriene receptor antagonists. It specifically blocks the action of compounds called leukotrienes in your child's airways. Leukotrienes cause inflammation and constriction of airway muscles and also lead to symptoms like wheezing and shortness of breath. By blocking these substances, montelukast helps to alleviate these symptoms.

• Store Telekast-L Kid Syrup at room temperature below 30°C

• Keep it in a place protected from light and moisture

• Ensure it's out of reach of children

• Telekast-L Kid Syrup should not be frozen

• To help manage your child's symptoms, aim to reduce exposure to allergens. This could mean dusting and cleaning regularly to minimise dust mites or keeping windows closed during pollen season.

• Encourage your child to drink plenty of fluids. Staying hydrated can help thin out mucus in the airways, reducing symptoms of asthma and allergic rhinitis.
