Alday Duo Syrup 60ml is a children's medicine used to manage allergic rhinitis and, as add-on therapy, asthma linked to allergies. It is a combination medicine containing levocetirizine (an antihistamine) and montelukast (a leukotriene blocker that reduces airway inflammation), and belongs to a class of medicines called antiallergics.
This medicine works by blocking histamine and leukotrienes, the chemical messengers that cause sneezing, a runny nose, nasal congestion and airway swelling. Give it as prescribed by your child's doctor, with or without food, and measure the dose carefully. It should be used only under medical supervision.
Helping your child avoid known triggers such as dust, pollen and pet dander, and keeping indoor spaces well ventilated, can help reduce allergy symptoms alongside this medicine.
Before giving this medicine, tell your child's doctor if your child has liver or kidney problems, or takes other medicines. Montelukast can cause serious mood or behaviour changes, so report any behavioural or mood changes, sleep problems, or worsening breathing to your child's doctor promptly.
