Tapal ER 50 MG Tablet is used to treat intense, long-term pain that standard painkillers cannot manage, such as chronic back pain or severe nerve pain from diabetes (neuropathy). The "ER" stands for Extended Release, meaning the medicine is released slowly into the body to provide consistent pain relief for up to 12 hours. This helps patients maintain a more normal daily routine without constant pain.
This medication contains Tapentadol, a synthetic opioid. It works in two ways: it binds to the brain's pain receptors to numb the sensation of pain, and it increases the levels of norepinephrine in the spine to block pain signals from traveling to the brain. This "dual action" makes it very effective for difficult-to-treat nerve and muscle pain.
This tablet must be swallowed whole; do not crush or chew it, as this can release a dangerous amount of medicine at once. Warning: This is a potent medication that can be habit-forming. Do not consume alcohol while taking it. Consult your doctor if you experience shallow breathing or extreme sleepiness.
