Sompraz IV Injection is used for acid-related conditions when treatment by mouth is not possible. It may be used for severe gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), erosive oesophagitis, NSAID-associated gastric ulcers, and to reduce the risk of rebleeding after endoscopic treatment of a bleeding stomach or duodenal ulcer.
It contains esomeprazole, a proton pump inhibitor (PPI). It reduces the amount of acid made by the stomach, helping acid-damaged tissue heal.
This medicine is given into a vein by a healthcare professional. The dose and duration are decided by your doctor, and treatment is usually changed to an oral medicine when appropriate.
Tell your doctor about liver problems, allergies, and all other medicines before treatment. Report severe or persistent diarrhoea, an allergic reaction, or worsening symptoms promptly.
