Esomac 40 Tablet is used to reduce excess stomach acid in conditions such as gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), peptic ulcers, and chronic acidity. It helps relieve heartburn and indigestion while protecting the food pipe from acid damage.
It contains esomeprazole, a proton pump inhibitor. Take the tablet on an empty stomach as directed, swallowing it whole. Continue taking it for the full prescribed course, even if your symptoms improve early, to allow proper healing of the stomach and food pipe lining.
Avoiding spicy, fatty, and acidic foods, eating smaller and more frequent meals, and not lying down immediately after eating can help reduce acid reflux symptoms. Reducing alcohol and caffeine intake may also ease discomfort.
Before taking this medicine, tell your doctor if you have liver disease, low magnesium levels, or osteoporosis, or if you are on long-term medication. Tell your doctor if you notice unexplained weight loss, difficulty swallowing, or vomiting blood, as these may need further investigation.
