CompositionSebifin Tablet is used to treat stubborn fungal infections of the skin, hair and nails, including nail infections (onychomycosis), athlete's foot, jock itch and ringworm, especially widespread or deep infections. It is a single-ingredient medicine containing terbinafine, and belongs to a class of medicines called allylamine antifungals.
This medicine works by blocking a key enzyme the fungus needs to build its cell membrane, which stops it growing and spreading, eventually killing the fungus. Take it as prescribed, and complete the full course, which can be several weeks or months for nail infections.
It is particularly effective against stubborn, widespread infections that may not respond well to topical treatments alone.
Tell your doctor about any liver problems before use, as liver monitoring may be advised. Report yellowing of the skin or eyes, dark urine, or a persistent change in taste.
