CompositionRivaflo 2.5 Tablet is used, with low-dose aspirin, to lower the risk of heart attack, stroke and death in people with coronary or peripheral artery disease, and to help prevent clots after a procedure to restore blood flow to the legs.
It contains rivaroxaban, an anticoagulant that thins the blood. It works by blocking a clotting factor (factor Xa), which reduces the formation of clots.
Take it as prescribed, usually with low-dose aspirin, and do not stop it without medical advice, as stopping can raise the risk of a clot.
Because it thins the blood, you may bruise or bleed more easily; use a soft toothbrush and take care with sharp objects. Tell your doctor about any bleeding problems, liver or kidney disease, or recent surgery, and tell any doctor or dentist before procedures. Report bleeding that does not stop. It is not suitable in pregnancy.
