Rioci 0.5 Tablet 10

Rioci Tablet is used for the following:

• Management of chronic thromboembolic pulmonary hypertension (CTEPH) in patients unsuitable for surgery or those experiencing persistent or recurrent symptoms after surgical treatment

• Enhancing exercise capacity in individuals with pulmonary arterial hypertension (PAH)

• Delaying clinical worsening and improving WHO functional class in cases of pulmonary arterial hypertension (PAH)

Here's how you should take Rioci Tablet:

• Swallow the tablet whole with a glass of water.

• Do not chew, crush, or break the tablet.

• Avoid doubling up on doses if you miss one; simply take the next dose at its scheduled time.

• Always consult your doctor before making any changes to your dosage.

Rioci Tablet is taken orally.

Rioci Tablet contains riociguat (0.5 mg), which works on your body in the following ways:

• Stimulates Soluble Guanylate Cyclase (sGC): Riociguat stimulates an enzyme called soluble guanylate cyclase in your cardiopulmonary system. This enzyme plays a significant role in managing your blood pressure and maintaining your heart health.

• Increases Production of cGMP: By stimulating sGC, riociguat increases the production of cyclic guanosine monophosphate (cGMP). This compound helps in relaxing and widening your blood vessels, leading to improved blood flow.

• Reduces Pressure and Strain: The enhanced cGMP production leads to vasodilation, or the widening of blood vessels, in the pulmonary arteries. This process reduces the pressure in your lungs and decreases the strain on the right side of your heart.

• Store Rioci Tablet at room temperature, ideally below 30°C.

• Keep the medicine in its original packaging to protect it from light and moisture.

• Always keep Rioci Tablet out of reach of children.

• Make sure you use the medicine before its expiry date.

• If you have pulmonary hypertension, try to minimise your salt intake. High salt levels can make your body retain water, which can put extra strain on your heart.

• Regular exercise can help improve your cardiovascular health. However, always discuss with your doctor what activities are safe for you before starting any new physical regimen.
