Composition

Amlodipine (5 Mg) + Metoprolol Succinate (25 Mg)

Revelol-AM 25/5 Tablet is used to manage high blood pressure (hypertension) and to help control angina pectoris, a type of chest pain caused by reduced blood flow to the heart.

It is a combination medicine containing metoprolol and amlodipine, and belongs to the class of antihypertensive medicines. Take it at the same time each day as prescribed, with or without food, swallowing the tablet whole. Continue taking it even if you feel well, and do not stop suddenly.

Reducing salt intake, staying physically active, maintaining a healthy weight and limiting alcohol support healthy blood pressure control alongside this medicine.

Tell your doctor if you have any heart, kidney or liver problems before starting this medicine. Report any swelling of the ankles or feet, unusually slow heartbeat, severe dizziness or fainting immediately. Inform your doctor if you are pregnant, planning a pregnancy or breastfeeding.

Revelol-AM 25/5 Tablet is used to manage high blood pressure in adults and to control angina pectoris, helping to relax blood vessels, reduce heart rate and ease chest pain caused by reduced blood flow to the heart.

Uses of Revelol-AM 25/5 Tablet are:

Hypertension: Helps manage and control high blood pressure.
Angina Pectoris: Helps reduce chest pain caused by reduced blood flow to the heart.

Swallow the tablet whole with a glass of water.
Avoid crushing or chewing the tablet.
This medicine can be taken with or without food, as per your doctor's advice.
Never exceed the recommended dose without discussing it with your doctor first.

Revelol-Am 25/5 Tablet is taken orally.

Revelol-AM 25/5 Tablet may cause some side effects that are usually mild and go away as your body adjusts to the medicine.

A few common side effects of Revelol-AM 25/5 Tablet:

Neurological: Dizziness, headache and fatigue.
Cardiovascular: Slow heartbeat (bradycardia) and low blood pressure (hypotension).
Other: Swelling of the ankles or feet (peripheral oedema).
Digestive: Feeling sick (nausea) and loose motions (diarrhoea).

Dizziness: It's advisable to take Revelol-Am 25/5 Tablet at bedtime, to manage this effect.
Gastrointestinal disturbances: If you experience nausea or diarrhoea, consider taking this medicine with meals.

Revelol-Am 25/5 Tablet contains two active ingredients that work together to control high blood pressure and relieve chest pain:

Amlodipine (5 mg): This ingredient inhibits calcium ion influx across cell membranes in your body's vascular smooth muscle and cardiac muscle. The result is vasodilation, or widening of blood vessels, which reduces peripheral vascular resistance and decreases blood pressure.
Metoprolol Succinate (25 mg): This substance is a beta1-selective adrenoceptor blocking agent. It reduces heart rate and the strength of heart muscle contraction, thereby decreasing blood pressure and lowering the heart's demand for oxygen.

Pregnancy

Caution is advised while taking Revelol-Am 25/5 Tablet if you are pregnant. It's best to consult your doctor before taking this medicine.

Breastfeeding

If you are breastfeeding, caution is recommended when considering Revelol-Am 25/5 Tablet . Always discuss with your doctor to understand potential risks and benefits.

Nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs): NSAIDs such as ibuprofen or naproxen can reduce the blood pressure-lowering effects of Revelol-Am 25/5 Tablet.
