Nicardia XL 60 Tablet is used to manage high blood pressure and prevent chest pain (angina) in adults. It is a single-ingredient calcium channel blocker containing nifedipine in an extended-release form.
It helps prevent both chronic stable angina and vasospastic (Prinzmetal's) angina attacks. Swallow the extended-release tablet whole with water and do not crush or chew it. Take it in the dose, frequency and duration prescribed by your doctor. Continue it even when you feel well.
Avoid grapefruit juice, which can raise the level of this medicine in the blood. Reducing salt (pickles, papad, chips), avoiding smoking and managing stress can also support blood pressure and heart health.
Before starting, tell your doctor if you have severe liver disease, and about all other medicines, supplements or herbal products you take. Report significant swelling of the ankles or feet. Ask your doctor before use during pregnancy or breastfeeding. Follow the prescribed dose, frequency and duration, report persistent or serious side effects, and do not stop the medicine unless your doctor advises you to do so.
