Moxif-400 Tablet is an antibiotic medicine used to treat a wide variety of serious bacterial infections. It is commonly prescribed for infections of the respiratory tract, including community-acquired pneumonia, acute exacerbations of chronic bronchitis, acute bacterial sinusitis, as well as complicated skin and soft tissue infections.
It contains moxifloxacin, which belongs to a class of medicines known as fluoroquinolone antibiotics. It works through a bactericidal mechanism by blocking bacterial enzymes necessary for DNA replication and repair, effectively eliminating the infection-causing bacteria.
This tablet can be taken with or without food, but it must be taken at the same time each day to maintain consistent medicine levels. Always complete the entire treatment course exactly as directed by your doctor, even if your symptoms disappear early. Stopping the medicine too soon can lead to the infection returning or contribute to bacterial resistance.
Before starting this medicine, inform your doctor if you have any liver or kidney problems, a history of tendon inflammation, or heart rhythm disorders. It is not suitable for use during pregnancy or breastfeeding unless explicitly recommended by your healthcare professional after a careful risk assessment.
