Composition

Amoxicillin (80 Mg) + Clavulanic Acid (11.4 Mg)

Moxclav Oral Drops are an antibiotic used in infants and young children to treat bacterial infections such as sinus, dental, skin and lower chest infections, including some caused by bacteria that resist ordinary penicillin.

They contain amoxicillin, a penicillin antibiotic, and clavulanic acid, which protects the amoxicillin from the enzymes some bacteria use to resist it.

Give the drops at the start of a meal using the dropper, shaking the bottle well first, at the dose based on the child's weight, and complete the full course.

Tell the doctor about any allergy to penicillin before use. Contact the doctor promptly for a widespread rash, persistent diarrhoea, or swelling of the face or difficulty breathing.

Moxclav Oral Drops are used to treat bacterial infections in children.

Uses of Moxclav Oral Drops are:

Dental and Sinus Infections: Treats dental abscesses and sinus infections.
Skin Infections: Treats skin and soft-tissue infections.

Moxclav Drops contain two active ingredients:

Amoxicillin (80 mg): This ingredient works by blocking the synthesis of bacterial cell walls. It does so by binding to and deactivating enzymes called penicillin-binding proteins (PBPs). PBPs help in forming peptidoglycan, a key component of bacterial cell walls. Disrupting this process results in the breaking down of bacterial cells leading to their death.
Clavulanic Acid (11.4 mg): As a beta-lactamase inhibitor, clavulanic acid prevents certain bacteria from becoming resistant to amoxicillin. Some bacteria produce beta-lactamase enzymes that can break down antibiotics like amoxicillin making them ineffective. Clavulanic acid stops these enzymes from doing so, ensuring the effectiveness of amoxicillin against these bacteria.
