Moxclav Oral Drops 10ml

Moxclav Oral Drops is used to manage bacterial infections in children, including respiratory tract infections (pneumonia, bronchitis), ear infections, sinus infections, urinary tract infections (UTIs), skin infections, and severe dental abscesses. It is effective only against bacterial infections.

Give your child Moxclav Drops as follows:

• Shake the bottle well before use.

• Measure the correct dose using the provided dropper.

• You can mix the drops with a small amount of milk, juice, or water to make it easier for your child to take.

• It's crucial to complete the full course of this medicine even if your child's symptoms improve. Always consult your doctor for specific advice on administering this medicine.

Moxclav Drops are given orally.

Moxclav Drops contain two active ingredients:

• Amoxicillin (80 mg): This ingredient works by blocking the synthesis of bacterial cell walls. It does so by binding to and deactivating enzymes called penicillin-binding proteins (PBPs). PBPs help in forming peptidoglycan, a key component of bacterial cell walls. Disrupting this process results in the breaking down of bacterial cells leading to their death.

• Clavulanic Acid (11.4 mg): As a beta-lactamase inhibitor, clavulanic acid prevents certain bacteria from becoming resistant to amoxicillin. Some bacteria produce beta-lactamase enzymes that can break down antibiotics like amoxicillin making them ineffective. Clavulanic acid stops these enzymes from doing so, ensuring the effectiveness of amoxicillin against these bacteria.

• Store Moxclav Drops at room temperature, not exceeding 30°C.

• Protect the bottle from direct sunlight and moisture.

• Ensure the lid is tightly closed after each use to prevent air exposure.

• Keep Moxclav Drops out of reach of children.

• Encourage your child to drink plenty of fluids daily. This could help manage any potential side effects such as diarrhoea, which might result from taking Moxclav Drops for managing bacterial infections.

• Maintain a balanced diet rich in fruits, vegetables, and whole grains for your child while administering this medication. This can support their immune system while they're recovering from the infection.
