Clavam Oral Drops is used in infants and young children to treat resistant bacterial infections of the respiratory system, ear, skin, and soft tissues.

Uses of Clavam Oral Drops are:

To administer Clavam Drops correctly, follow these steps:

• Shake the bottle well to loosen the powder.
• Slowly add sterile water provided with the pack up to the arrow mark on the label.
• Shake well and add water if necessary to adjust the volume up to the arrow mark.
• Administer the medicine as directed by your doctor.
• Use the reconstituted suspension within seven days.

Clavam Drops are given orally

Clavam Drops comprises two active ingredients:

• Amoxicillin (80 mg): This semi-synthetic penicillin works by inhibiting the synthesis of bacterial cell walls. It binds to and inactivates penicillin-binding proteins (PBPs), which are vital for linking peptidoglycan chains - fundamental components of bacterial cell walls. By halting cell wall synthesis, amoxicillin weakens the bacterial cell wall, causing the cell to break apart and die.
• Clavulanic Acid (11.4 mg): This ingredient is a beta-lactamase inhibitor. Its structure is similar to penicillin and can attach itself irreversibly to beta-lactamases, preventing them from breaking down amoxicillin. This action enhances amoxicillin's antibacterial spectrum to include bacteria that produce beta-lactamases and would otherwise be resistant.

Working together, amoxicillin and clavulanic acid offer effective coverage against a wide range of both gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria.

• Store Clavam Drops below 25°C to maintain its effectiveness.
• Protect the medicine from moisture; a dry area is ideal.
• After reconstitution, keep the suspension in the refrigerator when not in use.
• Use the reconstituted suspension within seven days
