BACTOCLAV ORAL DROPS 10ML is used to treat bacterial infections in infants and young children, including respiratory tract infections such as pneumonia and bronchitis, ear infections, urinary tract infections, and skin infections. Its oral drop formulation makes it easy to administer to babies and young children.
It contains amoxicillin and clavulanic acid. Amoxicillin is a broad-spectrum penicillin antibiotic that kills bacteria by blocking cell wall formation, while clavulanic acid inhibits beta-lactamase enzymes produced by resistant bacteria, ensuring the antibiotic remains effective against a wider range of organisms.
Give the drops orally as prescribed by the doctor, using the measuring dropper provided. Shake well before each dose. Give the dose at the start of a meal to reduce stomach upset and complete the full prescribed course even if the child appears to improve.
Diarrhoea, nausea, and rash are the most commonly reported effects. Tell the doctor if your child has a known penicillin allergy, liver problems, or develops a widespread skin rash during treatment.
