Mopry Ointment is used to treat localised bacterial skin infections such as impetigo, infected hair follicles (folliculitis), and minor wounds or cuts that have become red, sore or infected. It contains mupirocin, an antibacterial medicine that helps clear the infection.
Before applying, clean and dry the affected area. Apply a thin layer of the ointment as prescribed, covering it with a light dressing if advised. Continue using it for the full course, even if the skin looks better, to make sure the infection is fully cleared.
Wash your hands before and after applying the ointment to avoid spreading the infection. Avoid sharing towels or clothing with others while the infection is active, and keep the area clean and covered as advised.
Tell your doctor if you have any known allergies to antibiotics, or if the infection is widespread or does not improve within a few days. Avoid the eyes, nose or mouth. Speak to your doctor before use if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.
