Mupi Ointment is used to treat bacterial skin infections such as impetigo, which causes sores or blisters, and secondary infections of cuts, abrasions, or small wounds. It contains mupirocin, an antibiotic that is effective against bacteria such as Staphylococcus and Streptococcus species. It is also used for infected hair follicles and minor wounds. By stopping the growth of bacteria, it allows the skin to heal and reduces redness, swelling, and the risk of the infection spreading.
Clean and dry the affected area before applying a small amount of the ointment as directed by your doctor. It is for external use only; avoid contact with the eyes, and do not use it on large open wounds or wide areas unless advised. Consult your doctor before use, and tell them about any existing skin conditions, pregnancy, or other medicines. If you notice signs of an allergic reaction, or the condition does not improve within a week, stop using it and consult your doctor.
