CompositionMupi Ointment is used to treat bacterial skin infections such as impetigo, which causes sores or blisters, and secondary infections of cuts, abrasions and small wounds. It is also used for infected hair follicles and minor wounds.
It contains mupirocin, an antibiotic that is effective against bacteria such as Staphylococcus and Streptococcus. It works by stopping the growth of bacteria, which lets the skin heal and reduces the risk of the infection spreading.
Clean and dry the affected area, then apply a small amount as directed. It is for external use only; avoid the eyes and do not use it on large open wounds unless advised.
Tell your doctor about any existing skin conditions, pregnancy or other medicines before use. If you notice signs of an allergic reaction, or the condition does not improve within a week, consult your doctor.
