Mefkind DS Suspension is used to relieve mild to moderate pain and reduce fever in children. It is a combination medicine containing mefenamic acid, a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory medicine (NSAID), and paracetamol, a pain reliever and fever reducer.
This medicine is used for pain such as headache, toothache, earache, muscle pain and period pain, and to bring down fever. It is usually used for a short time only. Shake the bottle well, measure the exact dose with the device provided, and give it after food, as prescribed by the doctor.
Letting your child rest, giving plenty of fluids and dressing them in light clothing during fever can help them feel more comfortable.
Before giving this medicine, tell the doctor if your child has asthma, stomach ulcers or bleeding, inflammatory bowel disease, or kidney or liver problems, and about other medicines your child takes, including other pain or fever medicines. Stop giving it and contact the doctor if your child develops diarrhoea, a rash, black stools, vomiting of blood, or breathing difficulty. Do not stop giving this medicine for any other reason unless the doctor advises you to do so.
