Abmef Ds 100/250 Mg Oral Suspension 60 Ml is used to manage mild to moderate pain and to lower fever in children. It is a combination medicine containing mefenamic acid, a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory medicine (NSAID), and paracetamol, a pain reliever and fever reducer, and belongs to a class of medicines called NSAID and paracetamol combinations.
This medicine works by reducing pain and fever through paracetamol, while mefenamic acid reduces the chemicals in the body that cause pain and swelling. Shake the bottle well before each use and measure the dose with the spoon or cup provided. It is best given with food or milk to protect your child's stomach, and should not be given for longer than advised.
Encouraging your child to drink plenty of fluids and to rest while they have a fever or pain can help alongside this treatment. Dress your child in light clothing, keep the room comfortably cool, and offer simple, light meals if their appetite is poor.
Before giving this medicine, tell your child's doctor if your child has stomach ulcers, asthma, or liver, kidney or heart problems, or is taking other medicines, including any other medicine that contains paracetamol or an NSAID. Do not give it if your child is allergic to mefenamic acid, paracetamol or other NSAIDs. It contains sugar, so speak to the doctor if your child has diabetes. Seek urgent medical help if your child develops a persistent rash, swelling of the face, black stools, vomiting blood, or if the fever does not settle after several days.
