Lupidium 2 Tablet is a medicine used to treat acute and chronic diarrhoea in adults and children above 12 years. It helps control frequent loose stools and reduces stomach cramps associated with diarrhoea.
It contains loperamide, which slows down bowel movement and reduces fluid loss from the gut. Take it as prescribed, with plenty of water to help prevent dehydration. Take it only for the duration advised and stop once your stools return to normal.
Along with the medicine, drink an oral rehydration solution or plenty of fluids to replace lost water and salts. Eat light, easily digestible food and avoid oily or spicy meals until your symptoms settle.
Before taking this medicine, tell your doctor if you have fever, blood in your stools, or a history of liver problems, as this medicine should not be used in diarrhoea caused by certain infections. It is not suitable for use in young children without medical advice.
