Lopajoy 2 MG Tablet 10 is used to treat acute and chronic diarrhoea in adults and adolescents above 12 years. It helps slow bowel movement, improves fluid absorption, and reduces stool frequency in diarrhoea caused by infections, bowel disorders, or ileostomy.

Before you start taking Lopajoy 2 MG Tablet 10, here are some simple instructions to follow:

• Swallow the tablet whole with a glass of water.
• Do not crush or chew the tablet.
• You can take this medicine with or without food.
• Do not take more than the doctor recommended without consulting them first.
• Remember, it's important not to stop taking this medicine without speaking to your doctor first.

Lopajoy 2 MG Tablet 10 is taken orally.

Lopajoy 2 MG Tablet 10 contains loperamide (2 mg), which acts on your body in the following ways:

• μ-Opioid Receptor Agonist: Loperamide acts on the μ-opioid receptors in your intestinal wall. These receptors are part of a complex system that controls how your intestines function.
• Reduces Propulsive Peristalsis: By acting on these receptors, loperamide inhibits the release of certain substances, like acetylcholine and prostaglandins, which produce wave-like movements in the intestines called peristalsis. This slows down this movement.
• Increases Fluid and Electrolyte Absorption: The slowdown in intestinal movement allows more time to absorb fluid and electrolytes from your gut into your body.
• Increases Anal Sphincter Tone: Loperamide also increases the muscle tone of your anal sphincter, effectively controlling stool passage.
