Eat regular, balanced meals with controlled portions of rice, roti and sweets, limit sugary drinks, stay physically active and maintain a healthy weight.
Before starting, tell your doctor if you have kidney problems or a history of pancreatitis, and about all other medicines, supplements or herbal products you take. Long-term use can lower vitamin B12 levels, so your doctor may check this. Tell your doctor straight away if you feel very unwell with vomiting, fast breathing or unusual muscle pain. Follow the prescribed dose, frequency and duration, report persistent or serious side effects, and do not stop the medicine unless your doctor advises you to do so.
