Hyq 300 Tablet 10 is used for the following:

• Prevention of malaria infection

• Treatment of malaria caused by parasites

• Managing rheumatoid arthritis pain and inflammation

• Reducing symptoms of systemic lupus erythematosus

• Controlling discoid lupus erythematosus symptoms

• Managing porphyria cutanea tarda

• Treatment of polymorphous light eruption

• Supporting blood sugar control in type 2 diabetes

• Helping manage abnormal blood fat levels

• Reducing inflammation in autoimmune conditions

Follow these instructions while taking Hyq 300 Tablet 10:

• Swallow the tablet whole with a full glass of water.

• Do not crush, break, or chew the tablet.

• Take at the same time each day for best results.

Hyq 300 Tablet 10 is taken orally.

Hyq 300 Tablet 10 contains Hydroxychloroquine (300 mg), which works on the body as follows:

• Antimalarial action: Hydroxychloroquine concentrates in the food vacuoles of malaria parasites, increasing their pH and interfering with essential processes that lead to parasite death.

• Immunosuppressive effect: It acts as a mild immunosuppressant by inhibiting the production of rheumatoid factor and other inflammatory substances called cytokines, which helps reduce inflammation in conditions like rheumatoid arthritis and lupus.

• Lysosomal membrane stabilisation: The medicine stabilises the membranes of lysosomes (cell structures that contain digestive enzymes) and decreases cartilage damage in joints.

• Insulin regulation: It improves insulin sensitivity and stimulates insulin secretion from the pancreas, which can help control blood sugar levels.

• Store at room temperature in a cool, dry place.

• Keep away from moisture and direct sunlight.

• Always store out of reach of children.

• Do not use this medicine after the expiry date printed on the packaging.

• If you have rheumatoid arthritis or lupus, include foods rich in omega-3 fatty acids (like fatty fish and flaxseeds) and colourful fruits and vegetables in your diet to help reduce inflammation alongside your medicine.

• Hydroxychloroquine can increase skin sensitivity to sunlight. Use sunscreen, wear protective clothing, and limit sun exposure, especially between 10 am and 4 pm.
