Flospurt-d 8/0.5 MG Tablet 10

Flospurt-d 8/0.5 MG Tablet 10 is used to treat symptoms of an enlarged prostate, such as weak urine flow, difficulty starting urination, and frequent urges. It helps reduce the risk of sudden urinary retention and lowers the chance of surgery, but does not treat prostate cancer.

Please note: Flospurt-d 8/0.5 MG Tablet 10 is not used for preventing or treating prostate cancer.

• Swallow the capsule whole with a glass of water.
• Do not chew, crush, or open the capsule.
• Take it at the same time each day, with or without food.
• Continue taking this medicine even if your symptoms improve.

Flospurt-d 8/0.5 MG Tablet 10 is taken orally.

The efficacy of Flospurt-d 8/0.5 MG Tablet 10 lies in its two active ingredients:

• Dutasteride (0.5 mg): Dutasteride acts by inhibiting an enzyme called 5-alpha reductase in your body. This enzyme is responsible for converting testosterone into a compound called dihydrotestosterone (DHT), which plays a key role in enlarging the prostate gland. By reducing DHT levels, dutasteride contributes to shrinking the prostate, thereby decreasing BPH symptoms over time.
• Silodosin (8 mg): Silodosin works by selectively blocking alpha-1 receptors found in certain smooth muscles within your body specifically those in the prostate, bladder base, bladder neck, and prostatic capsule. The blocking of these receptors results in the relaxation of these muscles, easing urination and reducing symptoms such as urinary frequency and urgency.

• Store Flospurt-d 8/0.5 MG Tablet 10 at room temperature, ideally below 30°C.
• Avoid exposure to light and moisture.
• Keep the medicine in a secure place, out of reach of children.
• Always check the expiry date before use and do not consume if the medication has passed its expiry date.

• Include plenty of fruits and vegetables in your diet. These are rich in antioxidants, which can help protect the prostate gland.
• Regular physical activity, such as walking or cycling, can also be beneficial for men with BPH as it helps maintain a healthy body weight. Weight management is crucial as obesity can worsen BPH symptoms
