Feburic 40 Tablet is used for the long-term prevention and management of gout in adults by lowering raised uric acid levels. It is a single-ingredient xanthine oxidase inhibitor medicine containing febuxostat.
This medicine helps reduce how often gout attacks happen and allows uric acid crystals in the joints to clear gradually. Take it with or without food in the dose, frequency and duration prescribed by your doctor. A gout flare may occur when you first start treatment; continue the medicine and speak to your doctor about managing the flare.
Drinking plenty of water, limiting alcohol and cutting down on purine-rich foods such as red meat, organ meat and some seafood support treatment alongside this medicine.
Before starting, tell your doctor if you have heart disease, or liver or kidney problems, and about all other medicines, supplements or herbal products you take. Report any skin rash immediately, as the medicine may need to be stopped. Follow the prescribed dose, frequency and duration, report persistent or serious side effects, and do not stop the medicine unless your doctor advises you to do so.
