Emeset MD 4 Tablet is used to prevent and control nausea and vomiting caused by chemotherapy, radiation therapy, surgery and gastrointestinal conditions. It contains ondansetron, which blocks the chemical signals in the brain that trigger vomiting.
Ondansetron works by blocking serotonin receptors in the gut and brain that trigger the vomiting reflex, which prevents and controls nausea and vomiting associated with chemotherapy, radiotherapy and surgery in both adults and children.
This orally-dissolving tablet is placed on the tongue, where it dissolves without needing water, and is usually taken before chemotherapy, radiotherapy or surgery, exactly as your doctor prescribes.
Tell your doctor if you or your child have a heart rhythm problem, or a family history of one, as ondansetron can rarely affect the heart's electrical activity. Report palpitations, fainting or severe constipation to your doctor.
