Diarsec Tablet 10 is used to treat acute and chronic diarrhoea in adults and adolescents above 12 years, including diarrhoea associated with inflammatory bowel disease and to reduce stool output in patients with ileostomies.
It works by slowing down bowel movements and reducing intestinal secretions, helping control frequent loose stools and abdominal cramps. Take it as prescribed, and stop if diarrhoea does not improve within the advised time.
Drinking plenty of fluids, including oral rehydration solution, helps prevent dehydration alongside this medicine.
Tell your doctor if you have liver problems, fever, or blood in your stools before starting, as this medicine should not be used in diarrhoea caused by bacterial infections or dysentery unless advised. Report severe bloating, persistent constipation, or worsening abdominal pain. Pregnant or breastfeeding women should consult their doctor before use.
