By keeping the blood flowing freely, it reduces the risk of future cardiovascular emergencies.
This medication contains a combination of Clopidogrel and Aspirin. Both are antiplatelet agents but work in different ways to prevent platelets (blood cells) from sticking together. Aspirin blocks the COX-1 enzyme, while Clopidogrel blocks the ADP receptor on the platelets. Together, they provide a much stronger ""blood-thinning"" effect than either drug used alone, which is essential for high-risk cardiac patients.
Take this tablet once daily at the same time, with food to protect your stomach, as prescribed by your cardiologist. Inform your doctor or dentist about this medication before any planned surgery, as it increases the risk of bleeding.
