CompositionCandid Total Plus Cream is used to treat inflamed skin conditions that are infected with fungi, bacteria or both. It is a combination medicine containing clobetasol propionate (a very strong steroid), neomycin (an antibiotic) and miconazole (an antifungal).
This medicine is used for conditions such as infected eczema or dermatitis and fungal infections like ringworm, jock itch and athlete's foot when the skin is very red, swollen and itchy. It reduces inflammation while treating the infection. Apply a thin layer to the affected area as directed by your doctor, usually for no more than 2 weeks.
Keeping the skin clean and dry, wearing loose cotton clothing, washing your hands after application and not sharing towels can help prevent the infection spreading.
This cream is for use on the skin only and must not be used on the face, genitals, around the anus, or on broken skin, and not in children under 2 years or for nappy rash. As it contains a very strong steroid, do not use it on large areas or under airtight dressings unless your doctor advises. Before using it, tell your doctor if you have acne, rosacea, a viral skin infection, or kidney or hearing problems, and about other medicines you use. Tell your doctor if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. Long use can thin the skin. Do not stop using this medicine unless your doctor advises you to do so.
