Azeflo Nasal Spray is used to relieve symptoms of moderate to severe allergic rhinitis, such as sneezing, a runny, blocked or itchy nose, and itchy, watery eyes. It is a combination medicine containing azelastine, an antihistamine, and fluticasone propionate, a corticosteroid (steroid), and belongs to a group of medicines called nasal anti-allergy preparations.
This medicine is used for both seasonal allergies, such as hay fever, and year-round allergies to dust mites or pet dander, usually when a single nasal spray has not worked well enough. Shake the bottle gently and prime the pump before first use. Blow your nose, then spray into each nostril with your head tilted slightly forward, as directed by your doctor. Use it regularly for the best effect.
Avoiding known triggers such as pollen, dust and pet dander, and rinsing your nose with saline if your doctor advises, can help reduce allergy symptoms.
This spray is for use in the nose only. Before using it, tell your doctor if you have a nasal infection, sores in the nose, or recent nose surgery or injury, glaucoma or cataracts, and about other medicines you use, including other steroid medicines. Tell your doctor if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. Contact your doctor if you have frequent nosebleeds, changes in vision, or signs of infection. Do not stop using this medicine unless your doctor advises you to do so.
