Amlopres AT Tablet is used to manage high blood pressure and chronic stable angina (chest pain) in adults. It is a combination medicine containing amlodipine 5 mg, a calcium channel blocker, and atenolol 50 mg, a beta-blocker.
Using two medicines together helps control blood pressure and reduce the workload on the heart. Take it in the dose, frequency and duration prescribed by your doctor. Do not stop it suddenly, as this can cause a sharp rise in blood pressure, a fast heartbeat or worsening chest pain; your doctor will reduce the dose gradually if needed.
Reducing salt in your diet, staying physically active as advised, maintaining a healthy weight, limiting alcohol and quitting smoking support blood pressure control alongside this medicine.
Before starting, tell your doctor if you have asthma or breathing problems, a very slow heart rate, heart failure, kidney disease or diabetes, as this medicine can hide the warning signs of low blood sugar. Tell your doctor about all other medicines, supplements or herbal products you take. Ask your doctor before use during pregnancy or breastfeeding. Follow the prescribed dose, frequency and duration, report persistent or serious side effects, and do not stop the medicine unless your doctor advises you to do so.
