Albrim T Eye Drops 5Ml

Albrim T Eye Drops are used for the following:

• Reducing high intraocular pressure (IOP) in adults suffering from open-angle glaucoma: This is a condition where the fluid drains too slowly out of the eye, causing pressure to build up.

• Managing ocular hypertension: This condition is characterised by an increased pressure in the eyes that can potentially damage the optic nerve and lead to vision loss.

• Serving as replacement therapy for patients who require additional treatment due to inadequately controlled IOP: This typically happens when the current medication fails to effectively lower eye pressure.

To use Albrim T Eye Drops properly, follow these instructions:

• Wash your hands thoroughly before using the eye drops.

• Tilt your head back slightly and pull down your lower eyelid to create a small pocket.

• Hold the dropper above the eye and squeeze out one drop.

• Close your eye and gently press your finger to the inside corner of the eye for about 1 minute, to prevent the liquid from draining into your tear duct.

• Repeat these steps if your doctor has told you to use drops in both eyes.

• If you are using other eye medications, wait at least 5 minutes before instilling them.

• For specific advice related to your condition or dose, please consult your doctor.

Albrim T Eye Drops are instilled topically.

Albrim T Eye Drops contain two active ingredients, each playing a critical role in reducing intraocular pressure:

• Brimonidine (0.2%): This alpha-2 adrenergic agonist works by decreasing the production of aqueous humour - the fluid in the eye - and increasing uveoscleral outflow, which is the drainage of this fluid from the eye.

• Timolol (0.5%): As a non-selective beta-blocker, Timolol inhibits beta receptors in the ciliary body - a part of the eye that produces aqueous humour. By doing so, it reduces the production of this fluid within the eye.

• Store Albrim T Eye Drops at room temperature, ideally below 25°C.

• Keep away from direct sunlight and moisture.

• Ensure the bottle is tightly capped when not in use.

• Always keep out of reach of children for safety.

• Use this medicine before its expiry date as indicated on the packaging.

• If you have open-angle glaucoma or ocular hypertension, reducing caffeine intake can help manage your condition, as caffeine may increase intraocular pressure.

• Regular physical exercise, such as walking or jogging, might help lower intraocular pressure by improving blood flow to the eyes. Always consult your doctor before starting any new exercise regimen.
