CompositionCanazole Mouth Paint 15ml is used to treat fungal infections of the mouth, such as oral thrush, which causes white patches, soreness and discomfort. It is a single-ingredient medicine containing clotrimazole, which belongs to a class of medicines called azole antifungals.
This medicine is also used to treat soreness at the corners of the mouth and denture-related yeast infections when prescribed. Apply it directly to the affected areas inside the mouth using the applicator, as directed by your doctor, and avoid eating or drinking for a short while afterwards. Continue for the full course, even after the patches clear.
Brushing gently twice a day, rinsing your mouth after meals and after using steroid inhalers, and cleaning dentures daily and removing them at night can help prevent thrush from returning. Avoid very hot, spicy or acidic foods while the mouth is sore.
This medicine is for use inside the mouth only; try not to swallow large amounts. Before using it, tell your doctor about any allergies, conditions that weaken your immune system, diabetes, and other medicines you use. Tell your doctor if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. Stop and seek medical help if you notice swelling of the mouth or throat or difficulty breathing, and contact your doctor if symptoms do not improve within a week. Do not stop using this medicine unless your doctor advises you to do so.
