Vomikind Fast Orally Disintegrating Strip 1

Vomikind-Fast Strip is used to prevent nausea and vomiting in adults. Uses of Vomikind-Fast Strip are:

• Chemotherapy-induced nausea and vomiting: This medicine helps prevent nausea and vomiting caused by chemotherapy.

• Radiotherapy-induced nausea and vomiting: It prevents nausea and vomiting caused by radiation therapy, especially when the abdomen or entire body receives high-dose radiation.

• Postoperative nausea and vomiting: This medicine is given before surgery to prevent nausea and vomiting that may occur after you wake up from anaesthesia (the medicine that makes you unconscious during an operation).

Use Vomikind-Fast Strip as follows:

• Carefully peel open the foil packaging without pushing the strip through the backing.

• Place the strip on your tongue and allow it to dissolve completely within a few seconds.

• The strip will dissolve with your saliva, so you do not need water to take this medicine.

• Do not chew or swallow the strip whole.

• If you need to take multiple strips, place them one at a time on your tongue.

• Consult your doctor for specific instructions about when and how often to take this medicine.

Vomikind-Fast Strip is taken orally.

Vomikind-Fast Strip contains ondansetron (4 mg), which works on the body as follows:

• Blocks serotonin receptors in the gut: Ondansetron blocks serotonin (5-HT₃) receptors on nerves involved in triggering nausea and vomiting, particularly after chemotherapy.

• Blocks receptors in the brain: This medicine also blocks 5-HT₃ receptors in a part of your brain called the chemoreceptor trigger zone, which controls the vomiting reflex. By blocking these receptors, ondansetron stops the signals that cause nausea and vomiting.

• Prevents the vomiting reflex: By blocking 5-HT₃ receptors involved in the vomiting reflex, ondansetron helps prevent nausea and vomiting associated with chemotherapy, radiotherapy and surgery.

• Store Vomikind-Fast Strip in a dry place at a temperature below 30°C.

• Protect it from moisture and light.

• Do not push strips through the foil backing; peel carefully to remove.

• Keep out of reach of children.

• Do not use after the expiry date printed on the package.

• Eat smaller meals: Have small, frequent meals and avoid overeating, as large or heavy meals can trigger nausea and vomiting.

• Avoid triggers: Limit spicy, oily, and strongly scented foods, and avoid alcohol if they tend to worsen your symptoms.
