CompositionVertistar-MD 8 Tablet is used to manage symptoms of Ménière's disease, including vertigo, ringing in the ears (tinnitus), hearing loss and imbalance. It improves blood flow in the inner ear and reduces the pressure caused by fluid build-up, helping ease dizziness and restore balance.
It contains betahistine. The tablet is a mouth-dissolving (MD) formulation, so it can be placed on the tongue and taken without water, which is helpful if you feel nauseated. Take it as prescribed, and continue treatment for as long as your doctor advises to keep symptoms under control.
During episodes of vertigo, sit or lie down until the dizziness passes, avoid sudden head movements, and limit salt intake, as this can help reduce fluid retention in the inner ear.
Before starting this medicine, tell your doctor if you have a history of stomach ulcers, asthma, or a rare adrenal gland tumour called phaeochromocytoma. Contact your doctor if you notice a skin rash or persistent headache while taking this medicine.
