TIGATEL H 40 Tablet is a combination medicine used to treat high blood pressure (hypertension) when a single medicine is not sufficient. It also helps reduce excess fluid retention (oedema) and lowers the risk of heart attack and stroke.
It contains telmisartan and hydrochlorothiazide. Take it as prescribed with or without food, preferably as prescribed to prevent night-time urination. Keep taking it consistently even if you feel fine, as high blood pressure usually has no outward symptoms.
Lifestyle modifications are crucial for supporting blood pressure control. This includes maintaining a low-salt diet, exercising regularly, keeping a healthy body weight, limiting alcohol consumption, and managing day-to-day stress effectively.
Inform your doctor if you have liver or kidney disease, diabetes, low blood potassium levels, or gout before taking this medicine. It must not be taken during pregnancy or breastfeeding. Your doctor may monitor your electrolyte levels and kidney function periodically.
