Teltan AM 40 Tablet is used to manage high blood pressure (hypertension) in adults, particularly when a single medicine has not controlled it well enough. It helps lower the risk of long-term complications such as heart attack, stroke, and kidney damage.
It is a combination medicine containing telmisartan, an angiotensin II receptor blocker, and amlodipine, a calcium channel blocker. It can be taken with or without food, but take it as prescribed. Continue taking it regularly even if you feel well, as high blood pressure often has no symptoms.
Healthy lifestyle changes form an important part of managing high blood pressure. These include reducing salt in your diet, staying physically active, maintaining a healthy weight, limiting alcohol, and quitting smoking.
Before taking this medicine, tell your doctor if you have any kidney or liver problems, low blood pressure, or are taking other medicines. It is not suitable during pregnancy or breastfeeding. Your doctor may check your kidney function and potassium levels at regular intervals while you are taking this medicine.
