Telpres CT 40/6.25 Tablet is used to manage high blood pressure (hypertension), especially when monotherapy with telmisartan or chlorthalidone alone is insufficient. It helps control blood pressure more effectively and may support overall cardiovascular health.

• Do not crush or chew the tablet.

Telpres CT 40/6.25 Tablet is taken orally.

Telpres CT 40/6.25 Tablet contains two active ingredients:

• Telmisartan (40 mg): This ingredient is an angiotensin II receptor blocker (ARB). It works by selectively blocking angiotensin II, a substance that narrows your blood vessels, from binding to its receptors. This action results in the relaxation of your blood vessels and a reduction in your blood pressure. Telmisartan also blocks the release of a hormone called aldosterone, which further contributes to lowering your blood pressure.

• Chlorthalidone (6.25 mg): This is a thiazide-like diuretic, which means it helps your body get rid of extra salt and water. It does this by reducing the reabsorption of sodium in the distal convoluted tubule, a part of your kidneys. This action leads to increased excretion of sodium and water from your body, which in turn decreases blood volume and cardiac output, helping to lower your blood pressure.

• Keep your Telpres CT 40/6.25 Tablet in its original packaging.

• Store it at room temperature, ideally below 30°C.

• Keep it out of reach of children to prevent accidental ingestion.

• Remember to check the expiry date and use the tablet before it expires.

• Maintain a low-salt diet as excessive salt can raise your blood pressure, making your medicine work harder. Try flavouring your food with herbs and spices instead of salt.
