Telpres CT 40/6.25 Tablet is used to manage high blood pressure in adults when a single blood pressure medicine does not give adequate control. It helps lower and steady blood pressure, reducing the risk of heart attack, stroke and kidney complications.
It contains telmisartan 40 mg, an angiotensin receptor blocker, combined with a low dose of chlorthalidone 6.25 mg, a diuretic. Take it as prescribed at the same time each day, with or without food. Continue taking it even if you feel well, as high blood pressure often has no symptoms, and do not stop it suddenly without your doctor's advice.
A low-salt diet, staying physically active, maintaining a healthy weight, limiting alcohol and stopping smoking all support blood pressure control alongside this medicine. Watch for signs of dehydration, such as dizziness on standing, particularly in warm weather or during illness.
Before taking this medicine, tell your doctor if you have any kidney or liver problems, gout, low potassium levels, diabetes, or are taking other medicines. Regular monitoring of blood electrolytes, particularly potassium, and kidney function is recommended. It is not suitable during pregnancy or breastfeeding.
