Acitrom 2 Tablet is a medicine used to prevent and treat blood clots in the veins and arteries. It helps lower the risk of serious complications such as stroke, heart attack, and pulmonary embolism.
It contains acenocoumarol (nicoumalone), a vitamin K antagonist anticoagulant that reduces the blood's ability to clot. Take it exactly as prescribed at the same time each day. Continue taking it regularly as prescribed by your doctor, even if you feel well. Do not stop taking this medicine suddenly without consulting your doctor, as stopping abruptly can lead to serious blood clot formation.
Consistent vitamin K intake is important while taking this medicine. Eat regular amounts of green vegetables such as spinach, broccoli, and cabbage. Avoid sudden changes in diet or excessive alcohol intake, as these can affect how the medicine works. Inform your doctor before making major dietary changes.
Before taking this medicine, tell your doctor if you have liver or kidney disease, high blood pressure, diabetes, or are taking other medicines. Inform your doctor immediately if you notice unusual bruising, blood in urine or stool, nose bleeds, or blood in vomit. Regular blood tests are needed to monitor your clotting time. This medicine is not suitable during pregnancy.
