Telma-BS 5 Tablet is used in the long-term management of high blood pressure and to lower the risk of major cardiovascular events in adults.

Uses of Telma-BS 5 Tablet are:

• High Blood Pressure: Helps control essential hypertension by keeping blood pressure within a healthy range.
• Cardiovascular Protection: Reduces the risk of heart attack, stroke, and cardiovascular death in high-risk individuals.

• Swallow the tablet whole with a glass of water.
• Do not break, chew, or crush it.
• You can take this medicine with or without food.
• It is vital to take this medication at the same time each day to maintain a consistent level in your body.

Telma-BS 5 Tablet is taken orally.

Telma-BS 5 Tablet comprises two active ingredients:

• Telmisartan (40 mg): This ingredient is classified as an angiotensin II receptor blocker (ARB). It selectively prevents angiotensin II from binding to AT1 receptors in the blood vessels. Angiotensin II typically causes blood vessels to narrow. By blocking its action, telmisartan facilitates the relaxation and widening of blood vessels, improving blood flow and consequently decreasing blood pressure.
• Bisoprolol (5 mg): This component acts as a beta blocker. It targets beta-1 receptors in the heart which are usually bound by adrenaline and similar substances. By blocking these receptors, bisoprolol slows the heart rate and reduces the force of heartbeats. This, in turn, reduces the heart's output and aids in lowering blood pressure.
