Directions for Use of Telma Bs Tablet 10

Swallow the tablet whole with a glass of water.
Do not break, chew, or crush it.
You can take this medicine with or without food.

Telma-BS 5 Tablet may have the following common side effects:

Dizziness
Fatigue
Diarrhoea
Nasopharyngitis: This is inflammation of the nasal passages and the back of the throat, which might cause symptoms like a sore throat and runny nose.
Peripheral oedema: This means swelling in the extremities, usually your hands and feet, due to fluid build-up.

Telma-BS 5 Tablet comprises two active ingredients:

Telmisartan (40 mg): This ingredient is classified as an angiotensin II receptor blocker (ARB). It selectively prevents angiotensin II from binding to AT1 receptors in the blood vessels. Angiotensin II typically causes blood vessels to narrow. By blocking its action, telmisartan facilitates the relaxation and widening of blood vessels, improving blood flow and consequently decreasing blood pressure.
Bisoprolol (5 mg): This component acts as a beta blocker. It targets beta-1 receptors in the heart which are usually bound by adrenaline and similar substances. By blocking these receptors, bisoprolol slows the heart rate and reduces the force of heartbeats. This, in turn, reduces the heart's output and aids in lowering blood pressure.

Pregnancy

Telma-BS 5 Tablet is contraindicated during pregnancy. If you are pregnant or planning to conceive, it is vital to discuss this with your doctor before starting this medicine.

Breastfeeding

Non-Steroidal Anti-Inflammatory Drugs (NSAIDs): NSAIDs like ibuprofen and naproxen can reduce the blood pressure-lowering effect of Telma-BS 5 Tablet and increase the risk of renal failure.
Potassium Supplements or Potassium-Sparing Diuretics: These medications can increase the risk of high potassium levels in your blood when taken with Telma-BS 5 Tablet.
Heart Medicines: Telmisartan in Telma-BS 5 Tablet may increase serum digoxin levels. Monitor digoxin levels when starting, adjusting, or stopping Telma-BS 5 Tablet.

Telma-BS 5 Tablet interacts with the following diseases:

Diabetes: This medicine may mask symptoms of low blood sugar, especially a fast heartbeat. Monitor your blood sugar carefully.
